The Artaeum Pickled Fish Bowl is a unique dish learned from the Recipe: Artaeum Picked Fish Bowl. Its recipe can only be found inside a Waterlogged Psijic Satchel which can be obtained by fishing on Artaeum only.

Unlike regular recipes, the Artaeum Pickled Fish Bowl recipe is account-bound on pickup, meaning it cannot be traded or sold. If you wish to buy it, you will need to take a chance and buy Waterlogged Psijic Satchels instead.

Effect [ edit ]

The effect of this food isn’t clearly described in-game, but was described in the 4.0.7 patch notes:

«Fixed an issue that caused the Artaeum Pickled Fish Bowl to double the number of fish you receive under certain circumstances. The intended effect is that this food increases your chances to acquire rare fish, similar to the bonus that occurs when another player is fishing from the same fishing hole.»

When fishing in a group, it remains unclear whether the percentage increase from the potion is the same as when fishing solo, but it seems likely that there are decreasing returns as group size grows. It is also unclear whether the whole group gets the advantage of the virtual «extra person», or whether this only affects the drops of the players who drink it.

Fishing Guide for ESO – How to fish successfully

Welcome to the Fishing Guide for ESO. Fishing became quite useful in ESO because of the Perfect Roe drop which allows you to create EXP drinks. You can find fishing holes all over Tamriel. Your chance is increased to catch Rare Fishes when you fish in groups (5% chance for one person, 10% with two people, 15% with three people and 25% with four or more people). Make sure that you take the right bait, otherwise you will never catch fishes!

This is a new Unique Dish that has been introduced with the Summerset Chapter. You can only find this on the Artaeum Island where the Psijic Order is. While fishing you sometimes get “Psijic Satchel”, which can contain several things including this recipe. The recipe is account bound.

When fishing in the Summerset Zone, you have a small chance of dropping Pyandonean Motif pages! When you fish you have a chance to get “Pyandonean Bottles” where several things, including Pyandonean style material and the Motif pages can be found.

Hissmir Fish-Eye Rye drink – Fishing Guide ESO

If you drink this, you are able to see the fishing holes much clearer and it shows you what type of water it is when you point on it. This is very useful if you don’t have any addons.

Filet

When you filet the fishes (white fishes), you have a chance of getting Perfect Roe which can be used in provisioning to create EXP drinks or sell them for a high price in trading guilds.

You can craft the following Food & Drink with Perfect Roe:

• Food: Orzorga’s Smoked Bear Haunch (Perfect Roe, Tomato, White Cap, Frost Mirriam, Red Meat)
• Drink: Psijic Ambrosia (Perfect Roe, Frost Mirriam, Bervez Juice)

Psijic Ambrosia

To get Psyijic Ambrosia recipe, you first need to find 7 fragments so you can convert them. You will get those fragments by doing the provisioning crafting writs.

Orzorga’s Smoked Bear Haunch

To get the Orzorga’s Smoked Bear Haunch you needthe receipt and the following ingredients (Perfect Roe, Tomato, White Cap, Frost Mirriam, Red Meat)

Rewards

If you have caught all the Rare Fishes (achievements) in all non DLC zones, you get the title Master Angler and you will be able to buy the furnishing Fishing Vessel boat. There are also furnishings (like fishes) you get while fishing, which you can place in your home.

Rare Fish Tracker Addon

Rare Fish Tracker helps you keep track of the rare fish you have caught in your pursuit of fishing achievements. This add-on gives you a handy display window that automatically detects your current zone, the fishing achievement related to that zone, and your progress toward that achievement; and displays this info for you.

Fish are listed first by zone, then by rarity (color). You can choose whether the add-on highlights the fish you have caught or the fish you still need, move the window, and adjust its transparency. A keybinding allows you to show and hide the window with a keypress.

Completing the Geysers have a chance to award clam gall as well, perhaps more efficient than just farming clams. I dont recall if the daily geyser rewards one as well.

As I understand you get around 200 more health and magic using Artaeum Pickled Fish Bowl over an blue health + magic one who is basically free to make or you can buy bulk from guild stores for 25 gold.

Well people buy $500 hdmi cables too.

Note that Artaeum Pickled Fish Bowl is worth if going master angler on the other hand.

Yes — I do hunt occasionally for Clam Gall and I suggest you start at the far northeastern-most wayshrine and work your way down. Drop rate, however, is poor. There are online maps to show where the Giant Clams are.

I think a better chance is it do the Geysers (there’s a daily) and the drop rate for Clam Gall seems better from them.

I agree. Actually I was so thrilled to get the Psijic Ambrosia until I realized the rare ingredient was Perfect Roe and (although I had four) I refuse to do hours of fishing just to get Perfect Roe nor will I pay the high prices for the stuff.

Besides, it’s an XP buff so — you literally get that EVERY DAY as an Enlightened buff on CP characters.

I got Clam Gall just to have it in my Craft Bag, but I do not actively seek it.

The Pickled Fish Bowl is the new purple food item, the recipe of which is found by fishing.

The tooltip on the item is deliberately vague, only says it «attracts fish». I haven’t tested it myself, seeing as it requires a substantial amount of clam gall, which is simply too expensive right now to throw away on this.
However, people who have used it say that it increases your chances for a larger number of loot drops per line thrown, so you can get multiple drops instead of just 1 per bait. Also, several people are now saying that this ONLY works if you are fishing with ONE other person. Can this really be true? Is this really working as intended, or bugged? The gold recipe seems to be bugged, since it’s a drink but doesn’t reguster as a drink, so it’s not hard to believe that the purple recipe might be bugged as well.

I have fished a lot, in fact I have finished Master Angler and all DLC zones, and I was happy about seeing this new recipe, and wanted to get back into fishing again with it. But, if this really only works while fishing with ONE other person, then it’s a really horrible game design, and I can’t see myself using it at all.
Fishing is usually a lonesome business, few people fish, and often you’re left on your own. In fact, 95 % of all my fishing for Master Angler and DLC zones has been solo. Unless you’re a part of a dedicated fishing guild, and I can’t spare guild slots for that, then the odds are that you will fish alone most of the time. When people do fish in groups, like right now in Summerset where there’s a fishing frenzy going on, you’re often bombed by gangs of 4-5 people fishing with you. Both of these scenarios would mean the fishing food will not work, if it is true that it only works when exactly TWO people are fishing together.

I cannot for the life of me think why ZOS would implement something like this. Fishing is already extremely under-rewarding as it is, and we need encouragement to go fish. Did someone really think it was too OP if the food worked while fishing alone? Is there any particular reason to lock off the food effect if you’re fishing alone? I really hope this is either a false rumor, or perhaps a bug in the food effect that will be fixed, if not, then you can really forget about me throwing away expensive ingredients for something as absurd as a food that requires you to always be fishing with exactly ONE other person.

Artaeum Pickled Fish Bowl

The recipe Artaeum Picked Fish Bowl can only be found while fishing in the Artaeum zone. While fishing you might get lucky and get a Waterlogged Psijic Satchel, which can contain the recipe.

The Artaeum Picked Fish Bowl gives you a buff called Lure Allure . That way fish are attracted to you, this reduces the time needed for a fish to bite. That way you can farm more fish when there is plenty of people fishing at a hole. This unique dish is often used on magicka characters because it boosts your Max Health and Max Magicka like crazy.

Hissmir Fish-Eye Rye

The New Life Festival released a new Drink called » Hissmir Fish-Eye Rye «. It will increase your Magicka and Stamina Recovery by 529 for 2 hours. Even more important the Drink also grants you insight into what name of fish spawn in various bodies of water, as well as alertness for nearby fish activity. That way you can spot fishing holes easier because now they glow. You can already see the name of the fishing hole, even without the recipe or any addons.
