It has served its purpose as a restricted way to display the recipes. The website contacts a server that I am running to calculate the recipes, which was done in order to try and hide the PRNG algorithm until the developers were okay with it being shared.

Now that the embargo is over, there are better ways to get this information.

Personally I recommend Pyry’s great cheatgui mod, which displays this information ingame.

For an offline tool, you can use Saphire’s noita_unicorn tool.

If you want to see the source code that the server is running, you can check it out here. Feel free to rewrite it in JS and put it up on your own website!

Explanation

(06.10.2019) EXPERIMENT: I discovered that one of two random numbers that I previously didn’t know the purpose of are used in the ‘probability’ field of a reaction. I’m not sure whether this means the probability of these elements turning into the target or the probability of them just disappearing without doing anything, but I thought it might be useful to include this in the site. As this is very fresh, it might be inaccurate.

There are currently only two materials in the game that are hardcoded to be random (based on the world seed) — Lively Connoction and Alchemic Precursor. This site was made using reverse engineered knowledge. It uses the exact same algorithm that the game uses to generate the lists of ingredients necessary.

Actual algorithm mostly by @Saphire, some help by me. Website & infrastructure by me.

NOTE: There is still a very small chance that the rewritten algorithm isn’t 100% correct. Please report any inaccuracies to @Zatherz and they will be fixed ASAP.

NOTE: There was a reported inaccuracy with Ster’s playthrough. This has turned out to be nothing more than just the wrong seed being used, therefore there are currently no confirmed inaccuracies with this algorithm that are not results of incorrect usage.

Alchemy

Alchemy is the art and science of mixing reagents in order to obtain transformations of their qualities and effects. In Noita, the great majority of alchemical reagents are in liquid form, preserved in flasks. They can be mixed with other liquids or solid materials to produce a different substances entirely. It would take a patient alchemist with access to all kinds of elements to discover how many unique concoctions exist.

General Introduction [ edit | edit source ]

In a world where every pixel is simulated, Alchemy occupies a main role with no surprises. Even if the player chooses to avoid picking up potions and focuses in wand-building, they must be aware of the many reactions that endlessly occur in the world of Noita. Explosions, corrosions and fires share space with purifications, teletransportations, charmings and metamorphic effects, making alchemical knowledge essential to survival.

Also, the world will spawn many sorts of materials that can react to each other in some way, while having their own particularities while isolated in puddles, mounds or tanks. So, the majority of reactions that occur while delving into the mysteries of Noita will not be caused by the player’s direct actions at all. With this in mind, the character starts with three forms of modifying their surroundings:

  • A wand that shoots low-damage projectiles like Spark Bolt, Energy Sphere or Spitter Bolt, some of which can reduce powders and silence small flames at a very slow rate.
  • A wand with explosive spells such as Bomb, Firebolt or Magic Missile, which can remove chunks of terrain and/or ignite flammable materials.
  • A potion that changes its contents every game with the possibility of containing something helpful to the player or something harmful to creatures.

Additional potions can be found atop magical pedestals while exploring the dungeon, encouraging the player to make mixtures and try new reactions.

There are many other less-useful interactions which follow from basic physical principles:

Lively Concoction and Alchemic Precursor [ edit | edit source ]

These two concoctions have their recipes randomly generated at the start of each new game. The recipes are always in the ternary form (requiring three reagents).

Lively Concoction is an extremely useful healing potion, that heals at a better rate than the (also very rare) Healthium potion.

Alchemic Precursor is an indispensable reagent for creating the elusive Draught of Midas.

Finding the ingredients for each concoction is unpredictable, and an experienced player will keep a close watch for their distinct colours appearing.

(There are ways to cheat to find the recipe via a calculator website by Neff, or an in-game mod by cjneff.)

I think the combination is water + whiskey but I’m not sure if it’s seed based or not. I’ve found a combination that regerenates your health before it was acid + blood but this one is much more sick. Everytime I collected the gold the tiles beneath it turned into gold and I got to 6k+ gold in seconds. Here are some screenshots.

I don’t think you can know in-game currently. But it’s seed based and Zatherz/Saphire from discord put up a website to tell you the ingredients for the two random Healing/Gold recipes per seed.

Alchemy is still very work in progress. There is currently no way to know what your seed’s recipe is without an external tool like the website mentioned in the above comment.

And the recipe can just straight up be impossible if it chooses an unimplemented material or materials that react with each other in a way that prevents mixing

currently only 2 known brews exist
Lively Concoction(a minty green liquid with a faint glow, that is heavier than water and disappears after some time if not collected in a flask. it rapidly heals you while standing in it)
and Alchemic Precursor(a blue-ish liquid that is lighter than water, which becomes Drought of Midas on contact with flesh, which turns solids and powders near it into gold)

I have been able to create each of these once.
on those occasions, LC was Chaotic Poly, Water, and Slime
and AP was Blood, Water, and Coal (i left the mines with over 20k lol)

Alchemy is still very work in progress. There is currently no way to know what your seed’s recipe is without an external tool like the website mentioned in the above comment.

So there need to be 3 flasks. Then in my case AP was Whiskey, Water and Blood. But I don’t remember what was the 3rd flask when I found LC

not flasks, just the material themselves.
flasks are usually necessary to move the required material, but sometimes all the materials just happen to be in the same place (like when i had water blood and coal)

it can be 3 liquids, or 2 liquids + 1 powder

i don’t know if it can require more than 1 powder, but i don’t believe i’ve seen a recipe that calls for it.
